Amy was born and raised in the Muskegon area.  She graduated from Michigan State University in 1998 with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Zoology with an emphasis in animal behavior and neurology.  Amy started working at Clarke in the fall of 1998 and has worked in all areas of the hospital.

Amy is married with 2 children, Jon who attends Michigan Tech University and runs Cross Country and Track for them, and Katie who attends Fruitport High School and is also active in Cross Country and Track.  The family shares their home with 3 dogs - Izzy a Bernadoodle, Paisley a Corgi, and Tucker a mixed breed rescue from Louisiana, 2 cats - Jynx and Reese, and a bunny named Penelope.

During her off time, Amy is often found watching her kids compete in their races.  When the family has the time to get together outside of sporting events, they are often found enjoying the outdoors.  Hobbies for them as a group include kayaking, hiking, quad riding, boating,  snowmobiling, and exploring beautiful northern Michigan.
